From Rugao to Morocco: Delivering a 300-Class Cut-to-Length Line

Updated · 2 min read · SREE engineering team

A high-speed 300-class cut-to-length line left our works in December 2025 and was installed at a transformer plant in Morocco in May 2026. A short record of the steps between: factory test, container loading, installation and operator training.

From Rugao to Morocco: Delivering a 300-Class Cut-to-Length Line

In May 2026 our commissioning engineers finished installing a high-speed cut-to-length line at a transformer manufacturer in Morocco. The line is an SRHJ300-213G, built for lamination widths of 40 to 320 mm, with two shears, one V-notching unit and three hole-punching units. This note follows it from our assembly shop to the customer’s floor.

Factory test: 18 November 2025

Every line is assembled and run in our works before it is released. This one was tested in Workshop 5 in Rugao on 18 November 2025, cutting laminations and checking them against the acceptance items in the contract. Only after the test is signed off does the line get its nameplate and go to the shipping list.

Loading: 5 December 2025

The line was shipped in two 40-foot high-cube containers. Loading a cut-to-length line is planned in advance: the container layout is drawn by our engineering department, the heavy sections go in first, and the spare parts and accessories named in the contract are checked against the list before the doors are closed. The trucks arrived at 7:30 in the morning and the second container was sealed the same afternoon.

Installation and training: May 2026

The customer asked for installation to start at the beginning of May, and two of our engineers, one mechanical and one electrical, travelled to the plant. The sequence was the one we use everywhere: bases set and levelled on the foundation, the line aligned along its centreline, the control cabinet and drives connected, each station run on its own, then the whole line on the customer’s own coils. In the last week of May the engineers were teaching the customer’s operators to set up cutting programmes and run the line themselves.

Why the operators matterA line is only as good as the people who run it after we leave. We prefer the customer’s operators to cut the acceptance laminations themselves while our engineers are still standing next to them, so that the first problem they meet on their own is not the first time they have touched the controls.

About the line

The SRHJ300 is our 300-class high-speed cut-to-length line, the width class most distribution-transformer plants use. For the specification and options see the high-speed cut-to-length line page; for how to choose between width classes, see choosing a cut-to-length line width class. Other installations abroad are listed on international installations.

Frequently asked questions

Does SREE test the line before shipment?

Yes. Each line is assembled and run in our works, cutting laminations that are checked before the line is released for shipment.

How is a cut-to-length line shipped?

This 300-class line went in two 40-foot high-cube containers. The container layout is planned by our engineering department before loading.

Who installs the line abroad?

SREE’s own mechanical and electrical engineers install and commission the line and train the customer’s operators on site.

Sizing a line for your core shop?

Send strip widths, thickness and monthly tonnage. You get a line proposal with knife layout and floor plan, or use the online selector to narrow the series first.
