Core Shop Logistics & Smart Storage

Machines cut fast; core shops lose their time between machines. We design the material flow of the whole core shop – automated storage, RGV shuttles, stacker cranes and AGVs moving coils, strips and laminations from truck dock to stacking bay without a forklift queue.

One flow, dock to stacking bay

A reference layout from one of our engineered core shops – every shop is planned around your machines, volumes and building.

Coil intake

Master coils arrive by truck, unloaded by crane to the coil yard and de-packing area beside the slitting line.

Slitting feeds strip storage

Slit strip coils go straight into a strip ASRS – a reference build holds 424 locations, roughly 1,200-1,500 strip coils, zoned by transformer rating with FIFO rotation.

RGV serves the CTL lines

Stacker crane hands strip coils to a rail-guided shuttle; loading carts mount them on the cut-to-length decoilers. Leftover coils return to storage or a line-side buffer – loading never blocks unloading.

Laminations buffer and collate

Cut laminations circulate through a 7-level buffer store into half core-limb stacks – the CTL line never waits for take-off.

Core storage and turnover

A 5 t stacker crane files limb stacks into a 90-location core ASRS; a turnover station flips stacks that must stack tip-down.

AGV to the stacking bay

AGVs deliver limb stacks to powered platforms at the stacking stations; empty pallets flow back to the CTL take-off automatically.

Storage hardware, built to crane standards

±5 mm crane positioning

Stacker cranes locate by barcode on the lift axis and laser ranging on travel – repeatable to ±5 mm at full height.

Forks proven by FEA

Telescopic forks are servo-driven rack-and-pinion; tip deflection under 5 mm at full load and reach, verified by finite-element analysis.

Interlocked, three operating modes

Linked-automatic, single-machine and manual modes with full electrical and mechanical interlocks between travel, hoist and fork.

WMS with FIFO zoning

Storage software tracks every coil and stack by rating and width, enforces first-in-first-out, and talks to the line scheduling system.
